Wednesday Prayer Group
Prayer can be many different things. Sometimes it is like carrying a plant to the window so it can receive the Light it needs. We are not the Light but in prayer we can carry the needs of individuals and nations to the One who is.
Prayer Group has been meeting since 1991. Everyone is welcome to join when they can or on a continuing basis.
The group opens with a sharing of prayer requests gathered from the church office, the “prayer box” outside the sanctuary, the Mission Yearbook of Prayer, the Huntingdon Presbytery Prayer Calendar and requests known to members of the group. All prayer requests are kept confidential and are never discussed outside of prayer time.
We focus our hearts and quiet our minds on God through a scripture reading followed by 20-30 minutes of spoken and silent prayer. Members also pray for the requests throughout the week and at special times as needed.
Meets Wednesdays, 1:00-2:00pm in the Fireside Room

Men’s Covenant Group
The Men’s Covenant Group is a small group ministry that allows men the opportunity to meet together for prayer and discussion. In addition to our weekly gatherings, the Men’s Covenant Group also participates in occasional retreats, outings, and special events in an effort to foster relationships and spiritual growth.
Meets Tuesday mornings from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. in the Church Library, Room 202

Young at Heart (adults 55+)
Young at Heart is a fellowship group for persons age 55 and older. The group meets monthly, usually on the 2nd Friday of the month, for a pot-luck dinner followed by a program. All who are "young at heart" are invited. Just bring a covered dish and your own table service and enjoy an evening of fellowship. It is a great way to meet other church members and make new friends.

Adopt-A-Night
The third Friday of every month 2-3 volunteers are needed to "adopt a night" at Centre House, one of the local shelters that SCPC supports. Many have experienced the rewards of spending four hours, 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. with people staying at Centre House. Volunteers bring the ingredients for a dinner and prepare the meal with two of the Centre House residents, then sit and share the meal with all the residents. Another group of residents cleans up while you share the rest of the time in fellowship conversing with the residents. Please consider gathering a few folks together to participate in this meaningful outreach experience.
