Prayer Shawl Group Meets 5/31
9:00-10:30 am
The focus of this new small group is praying through the process of creating shawls; knitted, crocheted, sewn, weaved, quilted or by any other technique. Gatherings include praying together as a group in silence, time to work on shawls, ceremonies for blessing completed shawls, praying for the recipients of the shawls, and sharing our stories as we journey on this ministry. Through a contact of SCPC's Rachel Mastin we are joining efforts with another prayer shawl group to make shawls to be sent to Iraq. Their goal is to send 150 shawls! No experience in making shawls is necessary, just a love of creating and a belief in the healing power of prayer. The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 31st in the Library from 9:00 - 10:30 am. If you are interested in becoming part of this group or if you have questions, contact Maura McConnell at 867-5544 or see the article in the February PresbyPost Newsletter.

Eagle Scout Project Help
Max Sutterlin has begun the planning stages for his Boy Scout Eagle Project. He plans to improve the handicapped accessibility in Westminster Hall by installing an elevator lift at the back corner of the stage. This will enable people who are not able to use the steps down into Westminster Hall to be able to fully participate in activities that are held there. The Church will help to finance this project, but approximately $5000 still needs to be raised in order to complete the project. If you are interested in helping Max make this project happen and would like to contribute financially, you can send a check to the church office (made out to "SCPC" with "Max Sutterlin Eagle Project" in the memo). This project will benefit everyone in the church that values participation of all people who want to enjoy and participate in programs in Westminster Hall.

Food Bank and Bags
Please remember to check for the current list of needs for the SC Area Food Bank and include donations for them in your shopping cart. Bring your donations to church, leave them at one of the main entrances of the church and the Deacons will deliver the donations to the Food Bank.
And remember, too, that the canvas bags that the Deacons provided for shopping are meant to be a way to conserve the amazing resources of our earth by being reusable and share-able. If you have bags at home, or in your car, please return them to a rack in the entry ways so that others may fill them as well!
