Mid-Week Taize Worship Service
First Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the Martin Room

A once/monthly Taizé worship service using the music and format of the Taizé monastic community in Southeastern France meets once a month to sing, observe silence, and in the words of Brother Roger, founder of Taizé, meet with God. This simple contemplative service lasts about 40 minutes and is open to all ages.

Women's News

Save the Dates

There are many exciting offerings ahead for females of all ages!  Please save these dates:

2nd Women, Wisdom and Wonder (W3): Experiencing God's Love -- We will gather on Saturday, February 4th at 9:00 am.  Watch for more details.

A Day Away: A True Intergenerational Gathering -- Females of every age, 0-100 years old, are invited to come together on this day for a special time together.  Watch for more details.

Nurturing Women in the Sanctuary of the Earth with Oasis Ministries -- The intent of this new Oasis Women's program is to offer sacred space for the spiritual nurture of women in the context of the natural world.  The first gathering is February 1st- 3rd.  For more information, go to the Oasis Ministries website.

For more information about any of these programs, please contact Diana Malcom or Jackie Naginey Hook.

Women Wandering

On the 3rd Saturday of each month at 9:00 am (beginning January 21), we will wander on a nearby trail as we wonder about God's word to us.  The time will include conversation about  the scripture text that day, as well as a lovely walk in God's beautiful creation.  To be included in the email list (which tells us where to meet each time), get in touch with Diana Malcom.

Spiritual Decision Making for Women

At one time or another, we all struggle with discerning and making the "right" decision. Are you interested in learning more about the sacred art of finding your way?  If so, the Spiritual Formation Ministry Unit invites women of all ages to join a book group and read Nancy Bieber's book, "Decision Making and Spiritual Discernment:  The Sacred Art of Finding Your Way".  Ellen Coffman and Jackie Naginey Hook will use this book as a guide to explore spiritually grounded methods for making decisions.  Nancy Bieber uses her experience as a psychologist and spiritual director to explore why:

~ understanding yourself and your motivations are essential

~ waiting is just as important as acting

~ the attentiveness habit changes your life

This group will be limited to 15 women and will meet for 1 1/2 hours once a month for 6 months (dates and time TBA).  To register, please contact Ellen Coffman, Jackie Naginey Hook or the church office.  Hopefully you will leave this group knowing that "how you walk the path is as important as which path you are on."

Small Groups

Several Bible Study and Small Group opportunities are available. More information will be available on this page at a later date. In the meantime, contact the church office via email or by phone at 814-238-2422 for information.
