Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adults
As the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee (APNC), we represent the members of SCPC as we seek to call a new Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adults. The call process involves several steps.
First, the APNC drafted a Ministry Discernment Profile (MDP) to submit to the Church Leadership Connection site (CLC). The CLC is the online tool used by our denomination (PC-USA) to match potential candidates with churches seeking a pastor. The MDP includes descriptive information about our church as well as our overall ministry and our hopes for the new AP position. After review and approval of the MDP by our Session and by the Presbytery’s Committee on Ministry, we entered our MDP into the CLC.
Next, the CLC generated a set of candidate profiles. Candidates are also able to self-refer to our attention. The APNC has begun the process of reviewing the profiles received and discerning which candidates to schedule for initial virtual interviews.
The interview process will involve several virtual conversations with the APNC and eventually, with Pastor Scott. Once we find a candidate who we believe is called to our position, we will schedule an in-person interview.
The final step is the introduction of the candidate to the congregation and a congregational vote approving the call.
We seek guidance from the Holy Spirit as we make our way through this process, and we ask for your prayers as we continue our work.

Katherine Allen
Katherine Allen and her husband, Richard Page and their family have been members of SCPC for nearly 30 years. She has served as a Deacon, an Elder, a member of the Adult Ed Committee and as chair of the Mission Ministry Unit. In 2014-15, she served on a previous Nominating Committee for the Associate Pastor of Youth and Mission. Their three now-grown children enjoyed LOGOS, Chrysalis and FISH as youth and she looks forward to helping find our church community’s next Associate Pastor. |

Casey Behrer
Casey, along with her husband Allen and their four sons Cade, Camden, Channing and Corbin live in Spruce Creek on their family dairy farm, where she serves as office manager, parts runner and Chief Chaos Coordinator. As a teen, she served on the PNC of her home church and is looking forward to participating in the process again. She is an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and in her spare time enjoys camping and baking. Go Birds! |

Scott Cole
Scott has been a member of State College Presbyterian Church since 1998. At SCPC, Scott has taught Sunday School, spent nine years as the head administrator of Scout Troop 32, and served on the Youth Ministry Director nominating committee. He is a current member of Session, serves as the Youth Ministry Advisory Committee chairperson, and is in his third year as a FISH adult leader. Scott is married to long-time SCPC member and FISH alumna Carolyn (Munson) Cole and is the proud father of Nicholas and Allison Cole, both of whom earned the rank of Eagle Scout through Troop 32. |

Jeremy Frank
Jeremy Frank was raised in Pittsburgh and stayed in State College after graduating from Penn State. Along with Amy, he was a FISH leader for a number of years when they first joined SCPC. He has been a MSSS/Oasis leader for the last 10 years as their four kids have been in all the youth programs SCPC has to offer. He is excited to contribute in the search process. |

Nick Moose
Nick was born and raised in State College and has been a part of this church his whole life. He was involved in LOGOS and FISH. He spent my summers at Krislund, where he met his wife Annie, who is now a member here. He is a graduate of Penn State (‘21) and works downtown at Harpers. Nick look forward to growing in his faith and involvement within the church. |

Michael Rothenberger
Mike Rothenberger grew up in the First Presbyterian church in Wilmington Delaware and has been a member of SCPC for the past five years. He is married to Danielle Rhubart, and together they have two daughters, Rachel (6) and Carolyn (2). Mike has been an active participant in the Monday men’s bible study since joining SCPC and is passionate about cultivating fellowship opportunities inside and outside of the church. In his spare time he enjoys reading, bike riding, frisbee, and playing soccer with his daughters. |

Keri Rounsville
Keri Rounsville grew up in northwestern Pennsylvania, graduated from The Pennsylvania State University and married her high school sweetheart, Jeff. They have two adult children: Jaxon (22) and Jillian (18). Keri has been a member of SCPC since 1998. Over the years Keri has volunteered with the Christmas Day dinner, as a Sunday school teacher, on FISH cooking crews, and in various positions with the LOGOS program including nine years as the director. Keri is an early childhood educator at Hort Woods on the Penn State campus and enjoys spending time with her family, three dogs and one cat. |
