Giving to State College Presbyterian Church

There are a number of ways you can support the ministries of State College Presbyterian Church.

Make Your Pledge:

Pledges help guide our ministry. By making a pledge, you help SCPC plan responsibly for the year ahead–supporting worship, mission, programs, and the day-to-day life of our church community.

Mail in your pledge card or drop it off in the main office or at service.

Call the main office and speak with our Financial Administrator (814-238-2422 x207).

Ways to Give: Fulfill Your Pledge/Make A Gift:

Whether you are fulfilling your pledge or just wish to support the ministry and mission of SCPC, there are several ways to give.

  • Make a one-time or recurring gift through our secure online giving platform.
  • Sign up for ACH processing: complete our ACH form and return to our Financial Administrator in the main office. If you prefer, you may email it to finadmscpc@gmail.com.
  • Mail in or drop a check, made payable to State College Presbyterian Church, in the weekly offering during Sunday service. You can also often schedule a check through your bank’s bill pay or e-check option.
  • Make a gift of appreciated securities or through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Please consult your financial/tax advisor regarding your specific situation or for more information.

Every gift–large or small–helps support the worship, ministry, and mission we share as a congregation. If you have any questions about giving or how to give, please call the main office and speak with our Financial Administrator.

Giving to State College Presbyterian Church

There are a number of ways you can support the ministries of State College Presbyterian Church.

In addition to making a gift via the offering during Sunday worship, you may make a one time or recurring gift online, either through the online payment portal of your bank, or here

You may also donate gifts of appreciated securities, such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds to SCPC. This is an easy and tax-smart way to support the work of the church. Please contact Michelle Fortin, financial administrator, for more information.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a way that each of us can make a final tithe, a return to God of some portion of all that God has given to us. The practice of planned giving encourages us to look beyond our monthly budget and our annual pledge to consider the gifts we will make to the church when our need for worldly assets is done.

For many of us, our final gifts will be the most significant gifts we will ever make. We hope that you consider the church as your legacy—a blessing in your life, and one that you will gratefully pass along.

Gift in Your Will

Perhaps the simplest way to remember State College Presbyterian Church in your planned giving is through a bequest in your will. Almost any kind of gift you might leave to a family member or beloved friend—gifts of cash, stocks, mutual funds, life insurance, retirement funds, annuities and trusts—may also be left to the church.

Gift of Assets

Life insurance policies, retirement accounts, savings accounts and other assets are also potential avenues of providing for the church.

You may give a life insurance policy you no longer need for your loved ones’ security to State College Presbyterian Church. You may also name the church as a beneficiary of an existing policy, or you may purchase a new policy and designate the church as the owner and beneficiary.

You may also designate the church as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or Individual Retirement Account (IRA). And if you have savings accounts, annuities or certificates of deposit, you might consider naming the church as beneficiary on those accounts.

In addition to supporting the church, each of these avenues may provide meaningful tax benefits for you. We encourage you to speak with your attorney and/or financial advisor to determine which option is best for you.

The Martin Society

Named after James Martin, who, in 1779 became the first settled pastor of a log building in Linden Hall that was the progenitor of State College Presbyterian Church, the Martin Society is a way to honor those who have thoughtfully and generously remembered State College Presbyterian Church in their estate planning. These gifts will sustain our ministry and mission long into the future.
