A Sacred Space Rooted in Faith and Community
Since 1913, State College Presbyterian Church has stood as a welcoming presence in the heart of downtown State College. Built of native limestone, our church is more than a landmark — it’s a home of worship, learning, and fellowship for generations of believers.
Our campus today includes the Sanctuary, Christian Education Building, and community spaces that host worship, classes, fellowship events, and outreach programs nearly every day of the week.
From “Stay and Play” Preschool to adult Bible studies, this building serves as the heartbeat of a congregation dedicated to living and sharing God’s love.
The Sanctuary — Where Faith & Light Meet
Often called “The Church Beside the Tower,” our Sanctuary has inspired worship and reflection since 1913. Its tall gothic arches, warm stone walls, and breathtaking Stained Glass Window remind us of God’s light and presence among us.
Each element — from the bell that calls us to worship to the music of the J. Max Krumrine Pipe Organ — tells a story of faith carried through the generations. Recent updates have preserved its beauty while improving sound, comfort, and accessibility, ensuring that worship here continues to move hearts for years to come.

The Sanctuary seats about 600 worshippers and hosts both traditional and blended Sunday services.
The Columbarium & Meditation Garden — A Place of Peace and Remembrance
Tucked beside the church, the Columbarium and Meditation Garden offer a quiet place for prayer, reflection, and remembrance. Created through the generosity of members Jim and Sue Powers, this sacred space allows families to honor loved ones whose lives were shaped by faith and fellowship here.
Every niche purchased not only provides a final resting place within the church grounds but also supports SCPC’s mission work locally and beyond — transforming remembrance into ongoing ministry.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the garden during regular church hours.
