Children must turn one by Sept. 1. Our Tiny Tots Room is comprised of children ages 1 – 2 years with a class size of nine led by a teacher and an assistant teacher. Days offered in this room are M-W, or T-Th with Friday as an optional third day. In this room children will be assisted in practicing fine motor skills, gross motor skills, receptive language, expressive language, cognitive skills, self-help skills and socialization. They will also learn to be away from Mom/Dad, have increased self-esteem, and learn to trust another caregiver. The curriculum has an emphasis on language development and large and small motor development. The morning is filled with free play, guided play, reading stories, dancing, singing, and playing in the indoor playground. Music classes are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Children in this class do not need to be potty trained.
ABC’s, 123’s and MORE! Children must turn two by Sept. 1. Our Terrific Twos Room has a class size of nine led by a teacher and assistant teacher. 5-4-3-2-1 Blast off to preschool! Children must turn four by September 1 and must be potty trained. This classroom has a maximum of 15 children with a degreed teacher and an assistant teacher. Children may be enrolled for the 5-day , 3-day or 2-day per week program. They are taught and practice pre-kindergarten skills through a creative, play based, hands-on, child-centered curriculum that includes art, science, social studies, math, literacy and music. Gross motor skills such as hopping, jumping, and climbing will be assessed during activities at our indoor playground or a nearby outdoor park. Music class is held each Tuesday and Wednesday.
Maximum enrollment is 11 students, who must be 4 by September 1st and must be potty trained. This class is a smaller community of learners than their counterparts – the Fabulous Fours. The Rainbow Fours is a three day a week class running MWF with a degreed teacher and an assistant teacher. Like the Fab 4’s, they learn pre-kindergarten skills through a creative, hands-on, child-centered curriculum that includes art, math, science, social studies and literacy. The students enjoy play based learning allowing them to prepare for Kindergarten while learning to explore, identify, negotiate, take risks and create meaning in school. Centers that are open every day in the classroom include, science, dramatic play (ie: housekeeping), sensory, blocks, writing, art, library and music. Students enjoy music class every Wednesday and daily gross motor time either at a nearby park or in our “big room”.
We offer an extended care program called Adventure Afternoons for 3-5 year olds from 12 noon-2:45 pm. This is done on a drop-in basis (sign up at least one day in advance) or on a permanent part-time basis so you can use it as little or as much as you want! Cost is $16/afternoon for the drop-in or $14/afternoon for the permanent part-time with a discount offered if you have two children staying ($24 for drop-in, $21 for permanent part time). Your child can stay and eat lunch (pre-packed by you!) and enjoy varied activities including baking, exercising, enriching arts and crafts, music activities, trips to the library, TUMBLEBUS and much more!
