The State College Presbyterian Church wants to partner with parents to nurture your child's faith!  At SCPC we have many programs for children -- for preschool ages on up.  Click on the sub-menus to the right to learn more about opportunities for children.  If you don't see what you are looking for, just ask! PROGRAM YEAR SCHEDULE
Our Sunday School Programs for Children and Youth 

​Children who are 3 by September 1st up through 2nd graders can go to Children, Worship & Song, following the Children's Message during the worship service. 

Children in 3rd Grade and older will stay in worship with their families. The PATHWAYS (Sunday School) Classes start at 10:30 am and end at 11:30 am.

​PATHWAYS -  (Preschool and Elementary) will meet in separate age groups, and  begins around 10:30 am - 11:30 am

• PATHWAYS  (Younger Children 3's - Grade 1) meet together in Room 209 
• PATHWAYS (Older Children Grades 2 - 5) meet together in Room 210

THE OASIS

• THE OASIS (grades 6-12) will meet in the Fireside Room at 10:30 am each Sunday, with both Middle School and High School ages together until the group grows too large! 

SUNDAY MORNINGS
Each Sunday we offer classes for Preschoolers through High School students.  We are presently using "Growing in Grace & Gratitude" (PCUSA) for our Pre School and Elementary children up through Grade 5.  Children, youth, and teachers are always on a faith adventure as they learn about the Bible and our faith traditions in the Presbyterian Church. Each session of Growing in Grace & Gratitude is rooted in Bible stories that reveal God's grace. 

The hallway to our Elementary wing features a hand painted mural that says "Where The Bible Comes to Life ..."  And we hope it does indeed "come to life" in our classes.

We provide a light snack to our children.  Once a month we will have our Music Director meeting with the children to provide some meaningful time of singing.

Children, Worship, & Song
A Special Program for Children ages 3-5 and 1st and 2nd grade is available following the Children's Message during the worship service.

Those children who are already age 3 and up through 2nd Graders are welcome to come to the program entitled, Children, Worship & Song.   This program is a combination of our past Creative Movement & Music and Children and Worship programs.  The leaders are combining and sharing the leadership for what should be a wonderful learning experience for all ages.

There will be stories using the Godly Play method, with biblical figures, and even a desert box and interactive storytelling AND on alternate Sundays there will be more focus on movement, games and music.  This program is held during the 9:30 am worship service - beginning just after the children’s message. Your child is also welcome to stay in worship with you.

This special program will be held in Room 11, which is on the lower level.  Around 10:30 am, the Sunday morning PATHWAYS teachers will come get the children for Exploration Hour in the PATHWAYS classrooms upstairs in Room 209 and 210.

While some parents may choose to escort their children all the way to the doors of Room 11, you do not have to do that if your child is willing to go with Ms. Deannine down the stairs after the children’s message.  The children will be met at the door of Room 11 by their leaders. Our Sunday morning leaders are:  Jenny Van Hook, Wesley Astare, Wendy Huffard, Kate Woodruff, Ellen Rom, and Kelly Nguyen (substitutes: Alanna Leicht and Elizabeth Richardson).

Parents are to stay in the building during Sunday School and are welcome to attend Adult Education Classes at 10:30 am or visit in the Social Hall
​for Coffee Hour.
