Sunday Morning Programs
The State College Presbyterian Church wants to partner with parents to nurture your child's faith! At SCPC we have many programs for children -- for preschool ages on up. Click on the sub-menus to the right to learn more about opportunities for children. If you don't see what you are looking for, just ask! (contact Deannine Shipman, Director of Education and Program, 238-2422). Our mid-week ministries are listed on additional pages.
Listed below are the rooms for all of our children and youth classes. Children must be the age of the class listed by September 1 (or in that grade) to be in that class.
Please register your child for Sunday School if you are visiting with us! You can use our interactive online form (found in the sub-menu to the right) or download and print the Sunday School Registration Form (pdf) here and return it to the church office. Teachers also have the forms in the classrooms. Providing us with this information helps us in the event we need to contact you or in case of emergency.

During our 9:00 am worship service, children ages 3 and up through older Elementary children are welcome to come forward for the children’s message. Then children, 2nd graders and below, are invited to join in their special programs. Children who go to a program such as Creative Movement and Music, or Children and Worship are taken directly to their Sunday School classes by the teachers. Children in 3rd grade and older should leave worship when it is over, and go directly to their classes. In 2nd/3rd Grade, the snack is served first during the reading of the lesson, so we encourage those children to go directly to class!
Sunday School Classes
Each Sunday we offer classes for Preschoolers through High School students. We are presently using the PCUSA curriculum "Growing in Grace & Gratitude" with Pre Schoolers, and for our children up through Grade 4. Children, youth, and teachers are always on a faith adventure as they learn about the Bible and our faith traditions in the Presbyterian Church. Together they will read Bible stories based on Scripture that reveal God's grace.
For more information on our curriculum: growinggracegratitude.org
Our older elementary children in 5th Grade are using the PCUSA New Testament curriculum (Covenant People).
Our middle school and high school students study varied topics of faith issues, the Bible, and the Presbyterian Church. They also use PCUSA curriculum for younger youth, as well as "The Wired Word", which takes weekly current new stories, and enables the youth to discuss them from the perspective of our faith.
The Sunday School Classes start at 10:00 am ~ Adult Education Classes begin at 10:15 am. We do request that parents please stay in the church building during Sunday School so we can reach you in case of an emergency.
Special Programs for Children ages 3-5 (Creative Movement and Music ) and 1st and 2nd grade (Children in Worship) are available following the Children's Message during the worship service.
Any questions or concerns may be addressed to Patt Campolongo (Sunday School Superintendent), or to Deannine Shipman (Director of Education and Program - 238-2422).
