Wandering Women  - Join us on June 17!

All women of the church are invited to join the Wandering Women walk on Saturday, June 17 at 9:00. Sharon Manno will be leading our time together. We will take a walking tour of historical Bellefonte, including underground railroad sites and the waterfront, led by Bellefonte High School History teacher and tour guide, Matt Maris. The tour will meet at Talleyrand Park. The fee is $12 per person, payable to Matt in cash or with a check (no credit cards). Carpooling is encouraged because this is the same day as the Bellefonte cruise, so many antique vehicles will be gathering on High Street. To carpool from the church, be at the parking lot by 8:30 a.m. (Parking may also be available at the Match Factory or the Municipal lot in front of CVS.)

Dress for the weather, bring a water bottle, and consider sunscreen. We usually walk in light rain but will cancel if the weather is stormy. Look for any cancellation information on SCPC Facebook and via e-mail. Any questions, contact Sharon.

Due to the Arts Festival, there will not be an organized walk in July. Enjoy the Festival!

Emails about hikes are sent a few weeks prior and are published in church communications, Click here to join the Wandering Women listserve, If you need help signing up contact Martha Trout.

Stay and Play Preschool Enrollment for 2023/2024
Stay & Play open enrollment for Fall 2023 is now open to the general public. If you are interested in enrolling a child in the program you can
click here to go to our "Forms" page and fill out the online enrollment form or print the downloadable form and either drop off the registration fee or mail it in.

Plastic Caps/Lids for Krislund Collection
Keep those plastic lids coming!  This Presbytery-wide project has already collected 500 pounds - enough for one durable picnic table - and they-re not going to stop.  Collect your plastic lids and caps at home, and drop them in the containers at the parking lot door, the Fraser St. door, or near the Church Office (and Sunday Information Desk) anytime the building is open.  This is  a terrific spiritual discipline for Earth month, as we seek to reset our habits, attend to (and limit) our waste, and live more gently on God's earth.

Full lid list with photos. Photos of the durable picnic tables can be viewed at www.greentreeplastics.com/photo-gallery/.

Responding to Needs
Interfaith Human Services - If you are downsizing, or clearing out your winter closet, check with the church office to see if any of your items are currently needed.  Right now, Interfaith Human Service's Free Furniture program is very much in need of furniture to gift to low-income households, including gently used mattresses.  They will pick up at your doorstep.  Text or call IHS's furniture coordinator, Todd, at 814-810-3520.

While we are often praying for survivors of specific recent difficulties or disasters, the PCUSA is responding with practical assistance as well, through the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, whose work is guided by the words “Out of chaos, hope.".  Learn more about their work in the US and worldwide here.

Individuals may give online, or mail a check to the PCUSA with the memo: DR000148 — Disaster Relief and support.
