Sunday School for Kindergarten
NEW PLANS for Fall 2021
Sunday School BEGINS on October 10th for all ages!
Pre School, Elementary, Youth and Adults will all have a class!
As you can imagine, it has not been easy to even attempt this! We are having issues securing enough volunteers and also getting childcare workers at the moment, so thanks for being with us.
Also, due to Covid, we have limitations on who is available and/or feels comfortable to teach during this pandemic. Therefore, the Education Ministry Unit has approved a new plan for the FALL for our Pre School and Elementary.
We will offer multi-age Sunday School classes... if we have enough people to teach each week.
The 3's, 4's, and Kindergarten age will combine in Room 209 with two teachers and there will be an air purifier in there.
We will keep doors open, and everyone must wear a mask.
Since we will not be serving snacks, again due to Covid/safety, our Sunday School classes will be from 10:15ish - 11am. This gives time for children and youth to go get something at the coffee hour and to eat it there. We are not bringing snacks to rooms.
The important thing to note is this: Parents will have to pick up their children after Creative Movement & Music AND Children & Worship classes, go to coffee hour, and then bring them to Sunday School. While it's not perfect plan, it is the only one we see working for the time being.
The Pre School and Elementary Classes will be taught by rotating volunteers for the Fall and so I have included a link below. As you can guess, we could really use your help in having enough volunteers to even have Sunday School ! Curriculum is provided and will be mailed out to folks in advance. A copy will be in the children's rooms as well.
If you are willing to lead, and have taught at our church before, please sign up! If you are new, and want to sign up, give Deannine Shipman a call at church first so you know what the safety procedures are!

Many thanks for your support and understanding,
Deannine Shipman, Director of Education and Program
The Sunday School Classes start at 10:15 a.m. for all children. Young children who go to a program, such as Creative Movement and Music or Children and Worship, are taken directly to their Sunday School classes by the teachers. This enables parents to transition to coffee hour or Adult Education, while the children transition to Sunday School. Our Kindergarten children this year are meeting in Room 209 upstairs joining in with 1st Graders. It is a wonderful class of about 8-10 children this year! They will be using the Growing in Grace & Gratitude (PCUSA) curriulum again this year.
On the Sundays where you are out of town or not able to come to church, you and your children can check out what story and activities you might have missed from Sunday School by clicking on this link. Then scroll down to the bottom of this PCUSA store page, to find Grace Sightings, and choose the correct date for the story you missed. Want more? Check out the Story Audio next!
