Rev. John Porter, Interim Sr. Pastor (full-time)
voicemail extension 204

Pastor John Porter joined us as Interim Pastor in August 2022 as we begin our search to call a new permanent Sr. Pastor.  John began his ministry as an Associate Pastor at Hill United Presbyterian Church in Butler Pennsylvania. In 2008 he left that position and pursued training for and followed God’s call into transitional ministry.  Since then, he has exclusively filled transitional positions serving eight different congregations within Beaver/Butler or Pittsburgh Presbytery.  He has served congregations ranging from rural and suburban to urban - some with multiple staff and some as a solo pastor.

John and his wife Heather have two adult children,  Kirkland and Tim, both graduates of the University of Pittsburgh.  Heather has taught Geography and World History to 7th to 9th-grade students for 26 years in Butler.  They love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, camping, and gardening.  In the winter, they spend their spare time playing board games, doing puzzles, and binge-watching PBS mystery series and BBC period dramas.
