Adult Offerings
Sunday Adult Opportunities ~
Part of our Exploration Hour! Offerings Meet at 10:30 am - Following the Worship Service January Offerings
January 5 & 12 ~ “Reconciliation” ~ with Paul Mortimore ~ Westminster Hall
Reconciliation is the restoration of a relationship to a harmonious state after a dispute; it is the bringing of accord out of discord between two parties. This two-part series explores the difficult question of what we are called to do as Christians, with God’s help, in the face of broken relationships. January 19 ~ “Life after Doom: Wisdom and Courage for a World That is Falling Apart” ~ with members of the Spiritual Life Ministry Unit ~ Westminster Hall The Spiritual Life Unit will be holding a session on an overview of Brian McLaren and some of his recent writings. Brian will be our Henszey Lecture Series guest visiting us on April 4 – 6. For the last quarter-century, author and activist Brian D. McLaren has been writing at the intersection of religious faith and contemporary culture. In Life After Doom, he engages with the catastrophic failure of both our religious and political leaders to address the dominant realities of our time: ecological overshoot, economic injustice, and the increasing likelihood of civilizational collapse. January 5, 12 & 19 ~ “Connect” ~ with Zack Maser, Jamie Bauman, and Laura Millard ~ Room 10 Connect is an invitation to deepen your relationship with others and with God by contemplating scripture, lyrics, writing, poetry, and other topics of interest through small group discussions. This is meant to be a time to sit with questions without needing the answers, speak from the heart, pray, meditate, reflect, and be changed by the stories and sharing of others. Anyone with a desire to Connect more deeply, whether you are a believer or unsure what you believe, is invited to join us. Come as you are to listen, share, grow, and be! There are NO Adult Education Offerings on January 26 All Active Members are Encouraged to Stay for the Annual Congregational Meeting Following the Worship Service |
